tickFlocked Top: It has a soft flocked sleeping surface which provides extra comfort.

tickAdded Support: The 35 internal coils system and raised edges provide added support for your body and distributes weight evenly.

tickWrap ‘N’ Roll Storage: There is a carry bag attached at one end, which provides extra convenience when putting the air bed away.

tickGreat Customer Service: Other than being under warranty for 1 year, Coleman is known to have great customer service which should give you peace of mind when purchasing their air mattresses.

crossDoes Not Include Air Pump: It doesn’t have a built-in pump, neither is an external pump supplied. You would have to get a separate Coleman air pump.

crossMore Susceptible To Air Leaks: Due to its triple layer design, it also has more seams, which makes it more prone to air leaks since the seams are where punctures are likely to occur.

Customer Feedback

The people that know best about the product are those who have actually purchased and tested it out over a period of time. I’ve researched 70 positive and negative user reviews on Amazon to provide you with a general consensus of customer experiences with the Coleman Double-High QuickBed Air Mattress.

Construction & Durability

The Coleman Double-High QuckBed is constructed from PVC, like most other air mattresses, and the gauge of it doesn’t feel as thick as more expensive air mattresses. Although it’s classed as high-grade puncture resistant PVC, the triple layer elevation design makes it more susceptible to punctures. How is this so?

Well, the main areas of the air bed may be less prone to punctures and tears, but they mostly occur around the seams, which this model has more of due to its triple layer elevation. Around 14.6% of customer reviews consists of a 2 star rating or lower on Amazon, which isn’t the worst rating, but it’s also not the best. It’s above average which makes this air bed good, not great.

Fortunately, Coleman has an excellent reputation for replacing any air mattresses that develop a manufacturing fault, as long as its within one year of their warranty period.

Air Pump

It doesn’t include an air pump, so a Coleman air pump is recommended. Click here to see the best rated models.

No built-in pump and no include external pump means one thing – You have to buy your own. Though the air valve is not unique to Coleman’s own pumps, it’s better to get a Coleman pump since I find that they’re generally better in price and quality than most other air mattress pumps. You can see some of the best Coleman air pumps here.

The air valve has a double lock design, which has two seal points to prevent air loss. However, it’s not the same as a Boston valve, where there’s a one way air flow. The double-lock valve can still let air out if you have the cap open, so when you’ve finished inflating the mattress, you need to immediately close it before air escapes.

One of the stand out points of the Coleman Double-High QuickBed is its comfort. Users have stated that the flocking material is soft yet grippy, and if you want, the air bed can be inflated to the point where it’s very firm.

The 21/35 (twin/queen) ComfortSmart Coil System Technology contours to your body to provide better support. Some users who have back pains mentioned that they don’t feel it when sleeping on this mattress. The slightly raised perimeter helps to maintain the bed’s shape and also keeps you from rolling off the edge.

Like with most air mattresses, there will be air leakage during the nights, and it’s not different with this model. It will lose a little bit of air each night even in the optimum environment. However, air leakage is minimal compared to many other competing air mattresses.

Price Point

Though it’s not the best, I feel that the Coleman Double-High QuickBed is one of the better value raised air mattresses when you weigh up how well it performs with the competition. It would be much better if it includes an air pump, but you may have one already. Bearing in mind, that you’re getting a well-regarded brand in Coleman, and one of the better rated air mattresses. My Conclusion

  • It’s a good comfortable bed for temporary use.
  • Doesn’t include a pump which is a shame.
  • Excellent value for money backed up by great customer support.

Though the Coleman Double-High QuickBed is by no means perfect, it’s good enough to at least rank among the better air mattresses. The very reasonable price point for a well renowned brand in Coleman, is usually what convinces people to purchase this model, and most of them remain happy with their choice.
