comfortable air mattress gives you quality sleep

A comfortable air mattress can help to ease back pains and can solve sleeping problems.

Being a light sleeper or someone that finds it difficult to remain asleep, will often leave you waking up groggy and miserable. This can be because you find yourself waking in the middle of the night from the slightest of noise or movement, or it’s because your bed is too uncomfortable and your end up tossing and turning throughout the night.

A comfortable air mattress has been the answer for many people who experience sleeping difficulties. It certainly helped me when I was going through my period of back pains. I slept like a baby for those nights and more.

However, I had to go through a couple of different models before I settled on what I consider to be the most comfortable air mattress (it was the Insta-Bed Never Flat if you’re wondering), but there are a few others out there that have been praised as being extremely comfortable also.

The most comfortable air mattresses should have the following:

  • Flocked Top: Most air mattresses will have a flocked material on the sleeping surface, which increases insulation, grip and comfort. Sometimes the surface will be suede, or suede-like. If you decide not to have a bed sheet, then sleeping on a flocked top will ensure that you have a more comfortable sleep.
  • Low Air Loss: An all too common problem in air mattresses is that they’re prone to air loss, some models a lot more than others. You want to find an air bed that has an airtight system, where air doesn’t seep through the valve and the material doesn’t stretch much. However, people are often unaware that they can prevent air loss, and you can find out how here.
  • Body Stability System: The different patterns that you see on the sleeping surface of an air mattress are coils intended to keep your body in place so you’re less likely to toss, turn and roll around. It also helps to distribute weight evenly so there’s less bounce. Some air mattresses even have slightly raised edges so you don’t end up rolling off the edge.
  • Adjustable Firmness: Air mattresses with built-in pumps should allow you to adjust the bed’s level of firmness. It might be the case of just turning on the pump until you reach your desired firmness level, but certain pumps have integrated pre-settings.

By no means does it mean that in order for an air mattress to be comfortable, it should have all the above features. But low air loss is a must, and adjustable firmness being important.

After a thorough research, the following air mattresses fit some or all of the above criteria.
